Note
The European standard population is that proposed by Eurostat in 2013 and the world standard population is that proposed by the World Health Organization in 2001 for 2000-2025. These standard populations are applied to all years studied, from 1980 to the last year in which data are available. These standard populations are applied from the moment that 2017 mortality data were included since in previous versions other standard populations that were older were used (The European standard population was taken from Waterhouse JAH, Muir CS, Correa P, Powell J, eds. Cancer incidence in five continents. Lyon: IARC, 1976; 3: 456 and the world standard population was taken from Segi M. Cancer mortality for selected sites in 24 countries (1950-57). Department of Public Health, Tohoku University of Medicine, Sendai, Japan. 1960).
